Planning the shoot in a Location
My music video will be filmed in an indoor school classroom, which I will transform into a bedroom-like environment.
I will use:
- A projector and screen
- A piano
- Controlled lighting
This will allow me to recreate a personal and emotional space similar to a bedroom.
How I Will Transform the Space
Although the location is a classroom, I will adapt it to fit my concept:
- Use the projector to display:
- Rain effects
- Soft visuals (e.g. blurred windows, memories)
- Adjust lighting to:
- Create a low-key, moody atmosphere
- Reduce visibility of classroom elements
- Position the piano as a central feature
- Frame shots carefully to:
- Avoid showing obvious classroom details
This creates the illusion of a private, emotional space
Camera Considerations
- Use close-ups to hide the background
- Use shallow framing (tight shots) to maintain realism
- Avoid wide shots that reveal the classroom
This ensures the audience believes the setting is a bedroom
Advantages of This Location
- Easy access (school environment)
- Controlled lighting conditions
- Safe and quiet filming space
- Ability to use equipment (projector, piano)
This makes production more efficient and realistic
Link to My Concept
This location supports my idea by:
- Creating a private and emotional environment
- Allowing focus on the character’s feelings
- Enhancing the rainy, melancholic mood
This fits the conventions of pop/soul music videos
